Happy Belated Birthday Max Bruch!

For Max Bruch, one of my favorite composers, Happy Belated Birthday! I loved learning his Violin Concerto in g minor when I was a teenager, have had the pleasure of performing, teaching, and conducting this work many times since, and it has influenced not only my understanding of violin technique, but also of harmony, freedom in cadenza and solo passages, which he utilizes in an unconventional way, and pacing and tempi. The Romanze Op. 85 for Viola and Orchestra leads my list of works to add to my own repertoire in 2021.
